Qatar Museums and Teen Arts Awards unite to inspire the next generation of creatives

The upcoming International Teen Arts Awards (TAA), set to take place in Doha from 2 to 8 December 2025, will bring together a global network of young artists under a shared vision: preserving cultural heritage in the age of technology.

The third edition of the event marks a new collaboration between Qatar Museums (QM) and Teen Arts Awards, building on Qatar’s growing role as a nexus for cultural dialogue and creative innovation.

A platform for youth, creativity, and cultural exchange

Hosted at QM’s Teen Hub, the initiative invites artists aged 13 to 17 to express how tradition and innovation can coexist in contemporary art. Submissions are open until 15 November and welcome participants from across the world.

Teen Hub, a cornerstone project of Qatar Museums, was designed to nurture creative talent and introduce young people to opportunities within the cultural and creative industries. It has become a place where education, mentorship, and artistic experimentation converge — a reflection of Qatar’s long-term commitment to cultivating creative confidence in youth.

Nurturing tomorrow’s artists today

As Teen Hub Director Abdulrahman Al-Ishaq explained, the programme’s purpose is both cultural and visionary. By giving young people a meaningful space for self-expression, the Awards aim to strengthen Qatar’s identity as a global hub for the arts while empowering a generation that sees creativity as a force for change.

For Daria Kalinina, founder of the Teen Arts Awards, the project’s value lies in its inclusivity. “We’re not asking teenagers to become artists,” she noted. “We’re helping them realise they already are.”

Through this philosophy, the Awards encourage individuality, confidence, and collaboration — offering visibility and resources that can shape lifelong creative journeys.

Bridging heritage and innovation

The 2025 programme will explore how art and technology intersect in the preservation of heritage. Alongside the awards ceremony, the week-long event will feature a series of immersive experiences: guided public art tours, visits to museums and cultural landmarks, AI and art workshops, sustainable fashion sessions, and hands-on explorations of traditional craft.

In addition, a Photography Nomination, supported by the British Council and Tasweer Photo Festival, will highlight exceptional work in visual storytelling. Winners will receive visibility grants, exhibition opportunities, and educational prizes to advance their creative practice.

A collaborative ecosystem of partners

The third edition of the International Teen Arts Awards Qatar 2025 brings together a distinguished roster of institutional and cultural partners.

  • Qatar Museums serves as the cultural partner, providing the platform and infrastructure for the event.
  • The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, through its Studio5 programme, joins as the educational and innovation partner.
  • The British Council supports as a strategic partner.
  • Zurani Art Consulting participates as the Art and Business Education Partner, offering expertise on collecting, valuation, and the economics of art.
  • AlBahie Auction House and AbuIssa Holding contribute as cultural and awards partners, further reinforcing the connection between creative education and professional opportunity.

Together, these organisations illustrate the value of cross-sector collaboration in building cultural literacy and entrepreneurial confidence among young artists.

A vision for global cultural leadership

Through initiatives such as the Teen Arts Awards, Qatar continues to position itself at the forefront of cultural innovation, bridging generations and geographies through art. The event’s global reach and forward-thinking theme – Preserving Cultural Heritage in the Era of New Technologies – reflect a future in which creativity not only preserves history but also redefines it.

By empowering young artists to explore identity, heritage, and digital expression, the partnership between Qatar Museums and the Teen Arts Awards sets a compelling example of how cultural ecosystems can nurture talent while strengthening global understanding.
